The Chaeli Campaign was founded in 2004 as a wheelchair fundraiser, and since then it has evolved to mobilise children with disabilities and promote the normalisation of disability in society. They helped us when we were just starting up by offering guidance and advice, and assisted us in registering WWB as a non-profit organisation (NPO).
The Chris Burger & Petro Jackson Players’ Fund supports South African rugby players with disabilities. We work closely with them by providing rehabilitation to several of their members, and we have also hosted events and workshops with them in the past.
One of the world’s leading pioneers in robotics for rehabilitation. Ekso Bionics has worked closely with us to make the EksoGT robotic walking suit available to the public through our Therapy & Beyond Programme, offering us their guidance, expertise, resources and and even extra suits for a research project we were involved in conjunction with the University of Cape Town.
The Sports Science Institute of South Africa is where our facilities are currently based. Through our partnership, we have access to all their fitness, sporting and research facilities, and we have also trained their biokineticists to operate the Ekso Bionics EksoGT.
An IT company solving global business issues for companies through the use of technology, they came on board in early 2018 and made a sizeable donation, while also agreeing to help us cover the transport costs for a group of our lower-income patients on our subsidy programme.
Walking with Brandon, in 2018, was approved by the National Lottery Committee for funding towards our subsidy programme.
Andrea Assirelli has been in the business of kitchen design for the past 32 years and has mastered the subtle art of integrating beauty and functionality in the home. Assirelli also was generous enough to sponsor us a piece of rehabilitative equipment, the Weyergans VACUMED® Intermittent Vacuum Therapy (IVT) device, to aid to our patients.
